Oil production increases 2.3% WoW, Gas production inches down 0.1%

July 20, 2023 (MLN): Hydrocarbon oil production for the week ended July 16, 2023 stood at 67,344 barrels of oil per day (BPD), which increased by 2.3% WoW as compared to 65,854 in the previous week, latest data issued by Pakistan Petroleum Information Service (PPIS) showed.

Similarly, Hydrocarbon gas production for the week ended July 16, 2023 stood at 3,296 million cubic feet (MMcf/d), which inched down by 0.1% WoW compared to 3,301 in the previous week.

Company-wise, Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDC) had the major contribution to the production of oil which was 63.75% of the total oil produced in the week, standing at 30,951 bpd.

Other companies include Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL), MARI Petroleum Limited (MARI), and Pakistan Oilfields Limited (POL) with a production of 11,820 bpd, 1,096 bpd, and 4,684 bpd respectively.

On the other hand, MARI held dominance in gas production, producing 908 MMcf/d, around 38.69% of the total gas produced.

Other companies include OGDC, PPL, and POL with a production of 750 MMcf/d, 625 MMcf/d, and 64 MMcf/d.

Some of the major oil fields comprised Nashpa (10,738 bpd), Makori East (8,428 bpd), Adhi (6,033 bpd), Kunner Pasaki Deep (666 bpd), Maramzai (2,881 bpd), Pasakhi (3,148 bpd), Makori Deep (477 bpd), and Rajian (1,292 bpd).

Some of the major gas fields comprised of Mari (892 MMcf/d), Sui (282 MMcf/d), Uch (409 MMcf/d), Qadirpur (168 MMcf/d), Kunner Pasaki Deep (94 MMcf/d), Kandhkot (140 MMcf/d), Maramzai (96 MMcf/d), and Sutiara Deep (108 MMcf/d).
