The Market started the new week on a positive note with the KSE100 index gaining over 2 percent to close at 46,273.81 points.
Trading started cautiously with the index dropping in early trade and hitting the intraday low of 44,710.24 points (-511.92 or -1.13%) however the Index started to recover as the session progressed and hit the intraday high of 46,332.35 points (1,110.20 or 2.48%) before closing with a net gain of 1051.66 (2.33%).
All Share Volume increased by 102.93 Million to 235.30 Million Shares. Market Cap increased by Rs.179.26 Billion.
Total companies traded were 355 compared to 329 from the previous session. Of the scrips traded 279 closed up, 60 closed down while 16 remained unchanged.
Total trades increased by 34,877 to 91,923.
