PSX Closing Bell: Firework

June 07, 2023 (MLN): The local bourse witnessed positive sentiments on Wednesday as investors remained active accumulating stocks ahead of the investment-friendly budget and IMF deal in days to come.

Accordingly, the benchmark KSE-100 Index settled the trading session at 42,142.71 showing an increase of 219.25 points.

The index traded in a range of 307.15 points showing an intraday high of 42,231.63 and a low of 41,924.48.

The total Volume of the KSE100 Index was 117.407 million shares.

Of the companies in KSE100 59 closed up, 30 closed down, 4 were unchanged while 7 remained untraded.

KSE100 index was supported by Technology & Communication with 100.89, Chemical with 48.66, Oil & Gas Exploration Companies with 36.49, Oil & Gas Marketing Companies with 21.25 and Food & Personal Care Products with 19.56 points.

Companies adding points to the index were SYS with 52.94, COLG with 39.79, TRG with 36.6, MARI with 15.53 and UNITY with 13.52 points.

KSE100 Index was let down by Commercial Banks with 22.57, Fertilizer with 20.87, Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. with 11.33, Refinery with 4.61 and Power Generation & Distribution with 3.67 points.

Companies dragging the index lower were ENGRO with 17.2, DAWH with 13.22, MEBL with 12.79, HUBC with 7.91 and UBL with 6.73 points.

In the broader market, the All-Share index closed at 28,272.65 with a net gain of 171.27 points.

Total market volume was 332.535 million shares with traded value being recorded at 7.17 billion.

There were 126,490 trades reported in 343 companies with 198 closing up, 119 closing down and 26 remaining unchanged.
