The Index performance was lackluster during the day as investors decided to stay away owing to the lack of any positive triggers in the market. Oil sectors were among the prominent sectors finish the session on a positive note. Commercial Banks, Fertilizers, Engineering stocks and Pharmaceuticals were the top five worst performing sectors of the day.
The net point losers during the day were; HBL -103.5, ENGRO -23.07, SEARL -14.68, ABL -10.91 and INIL -10.80. On the flipside, MCB +2.1% and FFC +1.7% were the only two stocks to have closed positive other than the oil sector scrips.
KEL was the most traded scrip during the day, as the scrip continues to trade downwards after NEPRA decreased the MYT Tariff on the future prices for the company. The company in a press release notified investors of the feasibility of the new tariff and the consequences of the company thereof.
On the contrary, Oil & Gas Exploration Cos. Was the best performing sector following on the recovering oil prices in the international markets.
According to latest PBS Data, Pakistan's Exports during July to September rose by 11% to reach $5.17 billion. On the flip side, Pakistan's imports were nearly double of the exports during July to September; rising by 22% to reach $14.2 billion. The Trade Deficit during July to September has now widened by 29.7% to $9.1 billion.
KSE-100 Index at the day end lost a total of -107.04 points down by 0.26%, closing at 40503.68 points. Index Volume was 52.74 million shares, value of shares traded was PKR 4.27 billion with index low-high range of 40315.02 – 40776.97.
