OGRA proposes hike in POL prices by up to Rs10.50 per liter

September 15, 2021 (MLN): The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has proposed an increase in the prices of all major petroleum products by up to Rs10.50 per liter which would be effective from September 16.

In this regard, the authority has forwarded the summary to the ministry.

According to the rates recommended in the summary, the petrol price may be increased by Rs1 per liter while high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs10.50 per liter. Whereas, the regulator recommended an increase in the price of Kerosene oil and Light Diesel by Rs5.50 per liter each.

To note, for the first fortnight of this month, the government had rejected OGRA's summary of increase in prices of petroleum products by up to Rs 5.11 per liter and instead announced a slight reduction in rates.

The new prices will be announced after the approval of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
