IMF mission to hold economic review talks from March 14

March 12, 2024 (MLN): The International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission is set to hold economic review discussions from March 14 to 18, 2024 for the final review of Stand by Arrangement (SBA).

According to sources from the Finance Ministry, the IMF mission will arrive in Pakistan tomorrow night, marking the beginning of crucial discussions.

Over the span of four days, the mission will engage in detailed parleys with Pakistan's economic team.

The IMF mission will hold talks with the Finance Ministry, Energy Ministry, Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), and State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) officials, sources said

The Planning Commission and the Petroleum Division are also on the list for the discussions.

Parallel to these talks, preliminary conversations are anticipated to unfold regarding the prospect of a new loan program with the IMF mission.
