Federal cabinet establishes committee to recommend FBR reforms

January 24, 2024 (MLN): After a detailed briefing on Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) reforms and restructuring, the caretaker federal cabinet established a committee on Tuesday to provide recommendations on FBR reforms.

The committee was formed under the chairmanship of caretaker finance minister Dr. Shamshad Akhtar and comprises ministers of Foreign Affairs, IT, Law and Justice, Commerce, and Privatization.

Additionally, the federal cabinet approved the deployment of civil armed forces for general elections. They will be tasked with serving as a quick response force in sensitive areas.
