The World Bank Group has approved a loan worth $825 million to help improve Transmission System and Public Financial Management System in Pakistan. Of the total amount, around $425 million are to modernize the National Transmission System.
The project details show that some selected 500 KV and 220 KV Transmission lines will be upgraded and expanded.
The rest of the funding is to be funneled into projects improving Public Financial Management, The funding is aimed to improve payroll and pension systems of the Federal and Provincial Bodies.
