PSX Closing Bell: Hooked On An 8 Second Ride

July 24, 2023 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 index maintained its momentum today, staying above the 46,000 points mark throughout the day, and ended today's trading session at 46,054.81pts, adding 134.08pts or 0.29% DoD.

The index traded in a range of 323.03 points showing an intraday high of 46,195.7 and a low of 45,872.67.

Total Volume of the KSE100 Index was 154.05 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 46 closed up, 44 closed down, 2 were unchanged while 8 remained untraded.

KSE100 index was supported by Commercial Banks with 125.29, Oil & Gas Marketing Companies with 25.28, Power Generation & Distribution with 20.41, Chemical with 17.88 and Food & Personal Care Products with 17.02 points.

Companies adding points to the index were MCB with 50.95, UBL with 35.73, MEBL with 29.37, COLG with 18.71 and SHEL with 14.31 points.

KSE100 Index was let down by Cement with 22.0, Technology & Communication with 16.87, Oil & Gas Exploration Companies with 12.34, Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. with 10.94 and Textile Composite with 8.42 points.

Companies dragging the index lower were DAWH with 13.38, HMB with 11.16, CHCC with 8.51, SYS with 7.95 and POL with 7.1 points.

In the broader market, the All-Share index closed at 30,847.61 with a net gain of 116.37 points.

Total market volume was 299.076 million shares compared to 504.55 from the previous session while traded value being recorded at 8.14 billion showing a decrease of Rs.3.87 billion.

There was 124,002 trades reported in 332 companies with 146 closing up, 171 closing down and 15 remaining unchanged.
