PM refuses a further hike in POL prices

October 31, 2021 (MLN): Prime Minister Imran Khan on Saturday refused a proposal by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) to further increase petroleum prices in Pakistan.

In view of the rising oil prices in the global market, OGRA proposed to increase petrol price by Rs11.53 and diesel by Rs8.49 per liter for the next fortnightly.

While rejecting the same, the prime minister said in a statement that the government will bear the burden of the proposed raise in the price, instead of shifting the burden of the increasing oil prices in the world market to the consumers.

The prices of Petrol, HSD, Kerosine oil, and Light diesel for the next fortnightly will remain the same at Rs 137.79, Rs134.48, Rs110.26, and Rs108.35 per litre respectively.
