Opening Bell: KSE-100 down by 780 pts

March 12, 2020 (MLN): The KSE-100 index has lost around 780 points since the start of the session and is currently trading at 36,892-level.

The hubbub at the trading floors has been created as a result of Donald Trump’s decision to ban all travel from Europe to the US for a month to fight the coronavirus.

This decision has not only affected the equity markets across the board but also lowered the oil prices further, ramping up fears that the global economy will careen into recession.

So far, the Commercial Banks and Oil E&P Companies are appearing as the top losers as they have unitedly wiped the index off 422 points.
