OMCs Review: PSO records the highest sales of POL products, up by 21%YoY in November

December 3, 2019(MLN): The overall sales of POL products surged by 7% YoY during November 2019 to 1.42 mill tons when compared to 1.33 mill tons in the same month of last year on the account of lower base effect and increased fuel demand across all categories of fuel.

However, the sales volume dropped by 11% MoM in November 2019 due to higher prices of POL products, the slowdown in economic activity and lower production from FO based power plants.

According to the data analysis of various brokerage houses, the sale of MS and HSD and FO increased by 6% YoY, 4% YoY and 9% YoY respectively in November 2019. Whereas, on a sequential basis, the sales of MS and FO showed a decline of 15% MoM and 28% MoM respectively when compared to the previous month, i.e. October 2019.

Company-wise, Pakistan State Oil (PSO) recorded the highest sales at 665 thousand tons, i.e. up by 21% YoY and down by 9% MoM. This was followed by Attock Petroleum Limited (APL) with an overall sales volume of 149 thousand tons, up by 14% YoY in November 2019. The total sales volume of HASCOL and SHELL stood at 104 thousand tons and 103 thousand tons respectively.
