No change in fuel prices

November 30, 2021 (MLN): The government has decided to keep the petroleum prices unchanged for the next fortnight till December 15, a notification issued by the Finance Division on Tuesday showed.

As per the notification, the government kept the petrol price unchanged at Rs145.82 per litre, and the price of diesel at Rs142.62 per litre.

Similarly, kerosene oil and light diesel will continue to sell at Rs116.53 and Rs114.07 per litre.

Even though, crude prices have declined since the last week, spreads on HSD and MS remained high since November 16 till to date.

Detailed breakdown released by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) showed that petrol base price decreased by Rs6.69 to Rs118.58 from Rs125.27 on November 15.

Meanwhile, the government offset the decrease through Rs4 hike in petroleum levy, imposing Rs2.34 per litre sales tax from zero and an increase of Rs0.35 in IFEM margin to Rs4.4 from Rs4.05 per litre.

The government is charging a levy of Rs30 on HOBC, Rs5.91 on kerosene oil, Rs13.14 on HSD, Rs3.66 on LDO and Rs1.16 on E-10 Gasoline.
