HSD demand surges by 26% in 1QFY22: Hammad Azhar

October 28, 2021 (MLN): Despite increasing energy prices worldwide, the demand for energy products in Pakistan is on the rise amid robust economic growth as demand for High-Speed Diesel (HSD) has increased by 26% whilst petrol consumption has risen by 14% during the first quarter of FY2021-22.

Similarly, electricity consumption has surged by 13% during this calendar year.

While quoting the above figures on his Twitter handle, Hammad Azhar, Ministry of Energy said, “All signs of robust economic growth that may be even higher than last year’s.”
