Govt hikes petrol, diesel prices by Rs2.7, Rs8.4 per litre

February 15, 2024 (MLN): Amid an increasing trend in global oil prices, the government has raised the price of petrol and High-Speed Diesel (HSD) by Rs2.73 and Rs8.37 per litre, respectively, for the second fortnight in a row.

According to a notification issued by the Finance Division, the new petrol price now stands at Rs275.62 while HSD stands at Rs287.33.

These prices will be effective for the second half of February and are based on the recommendations of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).

To recall, in the last fortnight, the government hiked the petrol price by Rs13.55 per litre, and the price of diesel was increased by Rs2.5 per litre.
