Foreing investors dump net Rs7bn worth of securities in a week

May 20, 2021 (MLN): Foreign Investors during the week ended May 07, 2021, sold net Rs7 billion, worth of securities i.e. around Rs.36.42 million lower than last week's numbers.

According to a weekly report on Specially Convertible Rupee Accounts (SCRA) released by the State Bank of Pakistan, the gross sale of securities during the week was recorded at Rs.15.6 billion, which is around 7.9 percent higher than the figures recorded last week. Similarly, the total purchase of securities stood at Rs.8.6 billion, which is 14.8 percent higher than the prior week.

Over the week, the overall purchase of securities rose by Rs.1.11 billion while the net sale of securities increased by Rs.1.15 billion.

Apart from this, the inflow of remittance into these accounts stood at Rs.647.92 million, while its outflow has been reported at Rs.8.23 billion.

The closing balance of SCRA was recorded at Rs.29.61 billion, which marks a rise of Rs.55.53 million over the week.
