Banks’ deposits increase by 18% YoY to Rs26.8tr in November

December 11, 2023 (MLN): The total deposits held by scheduled banks have moved up by 17.88% YoY to Rs.26.79 trillion in November 2023 compared to Rs.22.73 tr in November 2022.

Accoring to data released by the SBP, Banks deposits have edged higher by 1.52% MoM, compared to Rs.26.39 tr in October 2023.

Total advances increased by 7.86 % to Rs.11.96 tr compared Rs.11.09 from a year ago. On a monthly basis, advances increased by 0.56 % from its values of Rs.11.89 tr in October 2023.

Advances to Deposit Ratio (ADR) stood at 44.64% showing a decrease of 43 bps on a monthly basis and a decrease of 415 bps on a yearly basis.

Total Investments of Scheduled Banks stood at Rs.24.58 tr compared to Rs.23.23 tr from a month ago and Rs.18.48 tr from a year ago, showing a M.o.M increase of 5.83% and a Y.o.Y increase of 33.03%.

Investment to Deposit Ratio (IDR) moved up by 374 bps to 91.75% compared to October 2023 and increased by 1044 bps when compared to a year ago.
