Yearly Inflation at 2.73 Percent in November

The PBS released the Inflation figures for November, following is the summary of their release.

  • CPI inflation, General increased by 2.7% on year-on-year basis in November 2015 as compared to an increase 1.6% in the previous month and 4.0% in November 2014. On month-on-month basis, it increased by 0.6% in November 2015 as compared to  increase of 0.5% in the previous month and decrease of 0.5% in November 2014.
  • Core inflation measured by non-food non-energy CPI (Core NFNE) increased by 4.0% on (YoY) basis in November 2015 as compared to increase 3.4% in the previous month and 6.9% in November 2014. On (MoM) basis, it increased by 0.1% in November 2015 as compared to increase of 0.6% in the previous month and decrease of 0.5% in November 2014.
  • Core inflation, measured by 20% weighted trimmed mean CPI (Core Trimmed) increased by 2.9% on (YoY) basis in November 2015 as compared to 2.8% in the previous month and by 5.3% in November 2014. On (MoM) basis, it increased by 0.2% in November 2015 as compared to increase of 0.4% in the previous month and 0.1% in November 2014.
  • SPI inflation on YoY increased by 2.1% in November 2015 as compared to decrease of 0.1% a month earlier and a decrease of 0.3% in November 2014. On MoM basis, it increased by 1.1% in November 2015 as compared to a increase of 1.2% a month earlier and decrease of 1.1% in November 2014.
  • WPI inflation on YoY basis decreased by 1.7% in November 2015 as compared to decrease of 2.7% a month earlier and an increase of 0.01% in November 2014. WPI inflation on MoM basis increased by 0.01% in November 2015 as compared to increase of 0.5% a month earlier and decrease of 1.0% in November 2014.
