Yearly Inflation at 1.61 percent in October

The PBS released the Inflation figures for October, following is the summary of their release.

  1. CPI  inflation,  General  increased  by  1.6%  on  year-on-year  basis  in  October  2015  as  compared  to  an increase  1.3%  in the previous month  and 5.8% in October  2014. On month-on-month basis, it increased by 0.5% in  October 2015 as compared to  decrease of 0.1% in the previous month and increase of  0.2% in October 2014.
  2. Core inflation measured by non-food non-energy CPI (Core NFNE) increased by  3.4% on (YoY) basis  in October  2015  as  compared  to  increase  3.4%  in  the  previous  month  and    7.8%  in  October  2014.  On (MoM)  basis, it  increased  by  0.6%  in  October  2015  as compared  to  increase  of  0.1%  in  the  previous month and 0.7% in October 2014.
  3. Core inflation, measured by 20% weighted trimmed mean CPI (Core Trimmed) increased by  2.8%  on (YoY) basis  in  October 2015 as compared to  2.8% in  the previous month and  by 6.0% in October  2014. On (MoM) basis, it  increased by 0.4%  in  October  2015  as compared to increase of 0.1%  in the previous month and  0.4% in October 2014.
  4. SPI inflation on YoY  decreased by  0.1%  in  October  2015  as compared  to  decrease of  1.3% a month earlier and an increase of  4.1% in  October  2014. On    MoM basis, it increased  by  1.2% in  October 2015 as compared to a increase of 0.5% a month earlier and no change in October 2014.
  5. WPI  inflation on  YoY  basis  decreased  by  2.7%  in  October  2015  as  compared  to  decrease of  3.5% a month  earlier and  an increase of 1.3% in October  2014. WPI inflation on MoM  basis   increased by 0.5% in October 2015 as compared to decrease of 0.4% a month earlier and 0.3% in October 2014.
