Power companies demand an increase in power tariff by Rs 1.93 per unit

August 29, 2019 (MLN): Power companies have recommended National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) to increase power tariff by Rs 1.93 per unit for the month of July.

If this request gets implemented, it would translate into a burden of Rs. 26 billion for the consumers.

NEPRA is scheduled to hold a hearing in this regard on September 4, 2019, i.e. Wednesday.

Share of hydel in electricity production stands at 32.5%, RLNG at 24.71%, coal at 14.33% and Gas at 11.81%.
