Overseas investors inject net Rs123.2 million in a week

October 01, 2021 (MLN): Overseas investors purchased net securities worth Rs123.2 million during the week ended September 24, 2021, whereas last week, the accounts observed a net sale of Rs.645.05 million.

According to a weekly report on Specially Convertible Rupee Accounts (SCRA) released by the State Bank of Pakistan, the gross sale of securities during the week was recorded at Rs.38.1 billion, which is around 115.1 percent higher than the figures recorded last week. Similarly, the total purchase of securities stood at Rs.38.3 billion, which is 124 percent higher than the prior week.

Over the week, the overall purchase of securities rose by Rs.21.17 billion while the net sale of securities increased by Rs.20.4 billion.

Apart from this, the inflow of remittance into these accounts stood at Rs.4.56 billion, while its outflow has been reported at Rs.4.28 billion.

The closing balance of SCRA was recorded at Rs.30.98 billion, which marks a rise of Rs.1.75 billion over the week.
