Government borrowed $4.367 billion from Commercial Banks in 2016-17

Government during last fiscal year set the target to borrow $2.005 billion from Commercial Banks. However, the borrowing from commercial banks accounts around 43 percent during last fiscal year.

Net borrowing during 2016-17 amounted to 10.550 billion dollars. Government in June, 2017 alone borrowed $1.5 billion from commercial banks way beyond its set target.

Government borrowed $1.6 billion each from China and Asian Development Bank.
