Closing Bell – Markets relatively unmoved amidst budget announcements

Market’s bullish run in the last week came to a halt today as market closed at almost same level as it opened. The market lost up to 7 points, a decrease of 0.01% and closed at a tally of 52869.01 points.

Pakistan witnessed a dormant day in anticipation of the budget which is slated to be released tomorrow. Also, the market was pre occupied with the launch of pre budget document, the Pakistan Economic Survey 2016-17. 

The market closed on a tally of 52,869.01 points after reaching a 53,127.24 and an intraday low of 52,733.89 points.

All Share Volume decreased by 197.81 Million to 408.89 Million Shares. Market Cap decreased by Rs.0.85 Billion.

Total companies traded were 401 compared to 420 from the previous session. Of the scrips traded 153 closed up, 237 closed down while 11 remained unchanged.

Total trades decreased by 21,425 to 127,346.

Value Traded increased by 0.73 Billion to Rs.24.43 Billion
