Closing Bell: Bears dominate the session; Index down by 0.66%

KSE-100 index witnessed losses yet again today, after slightly recovering on Friday last week. Markets were hovering around 41,000 levels today down by at least 0.7 percent. The participation was relatively lower with just 100 million shares exchanging hands at the exchange during the day. HBL stocks went into second consecutive upper circuit limit after recovering at settlement.

In Corporate news, First Al Noor Modaraba (FANM), Attock Petroleum Ltd (APL), Attock Refinery Ltd (ATRL), Pakistan Oilfields Ltd (POL), Attock Cement Pakistan Ltd (ACPL) and Goodluck Industries Ltd (GIL) announced financial results for the twelve months period.

NEPRA announced it is looking to hire consultant of coal-run power plants as the agency anticipates the consumption is supposed to triple in the next two years. In provincial news, Chief Minister reviews 30 schemes worth Rs. 111 billion launched in Thar for coal mining and Energy uplift.

Sazgar Engineering Works (SAZEW) released sales and production results for the period. The company has increased production by 58 units in the month of August, whereas the company managed to increase number of units sold by 79.

KSE-100 Index at the day gained lost a total of 274.19 points, closing at 41126.83 points. Index touched an intraday high of 41552.05 points whereas touching a low of 41062.47.

In percentage terms, index was down by 0.66%.
